TheDepartmentofPsychiatryandBehavioralSciencesatStanfordUniversity’sSchoolofMedicineisseeking ResearchDataAnalyst 1 (RDA 1) to manage and analyze large amounts of multi-modality brain imaging data under the direction of Dr. Vankee Lin. CogT Lab focuses on the evaluation of various cognitive interventions among older adults and understanding the underlying neural mechanisms. Thispositionwillbe 100%FTE.Interestedcandidatesshouldinclude a coverletteralongwiththeirCV.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Manageandcleandatasets.
  • Employnewandexistingtoolstointerpret,analyze,andvisualizemultivariaterelationshipsindata.
  • Createdatabasesandreports,developalgorithmsandstatisticaland/orcomputationalmodels,andperformdataanalyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements.
  • Usesystemreportsandanalysestoidentifypotentiallyproblematicdata,makecorrections,anddeterminerootcausefordata problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest possible solutions.
  • Developreports,charts,graphsandtablesforuse byinvestigators andforpublicationandpresentation.
  • Analyze dataprocesses in documentation.
  • Collaboratewith facultyand researchstaffon data collection and analysismethods.
  • Providedocumentationbasedonauditandreportingcriteriatoinvestigatorsandresearchstaff.
  • Communicatewithgovernmentofficials,grantagenciesandindustryrepresentatives.

DESIREDQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor'sdegreeincomputationalandengineeringsciences(e.g.,computerscience,computationalbiology,electrical engineering, biomedical engineering) or other related fields.
  • Experiencewithsignalprocessingofmedicalimaging data.
  • Experiencewithordemonstratedinterestinneuroimagingtechniques.
  • ExperiencewithNeuroimaging(FSL,SPM,AFNI,orequivalent)software.
  • Experienceusinghigh-performance computerclustersandbash/shellscripting.
  • Experienceindatascience,statistics,optimization,machinelearning,and/ordeeplearning.
  • Experiencewithmachinelearningframeworks (e.g.PyTorch,Tensorflow, etc.)
  • ExperiencewithStatisticalsoftware(R,SAS,SPSS,orequivalent),andothercommonprogramminglanguagesin neuroimaging (python, MATLAB). Prior experience with R is highly recommended for data analysis.

EDUCATION&EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Bachelor'sdegreeoracombinationofeducationandrelevantexperience.Experienceinaquantitativedisciplinesuchaseconomics, finance, statistics or engineering.

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSANDABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Substantialexperience withMS Office andanalyticalprograms
  • Strongwritingandanalyticalskillsinmachine learning.
  • Abilitytoprioritizeworkload.

  • Sittinginplace atcomputerforlongperiodsoftime withextensivekeyboarding/dexterity.
  • Occasionally useatelephone.
  • Rarelywritingbyhand.

The expected pay range for this position is $82,468 to $106,256 per annum (within 10 Bay Area counties) or $54,763 to $83636 per annum (all other regions). Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position,thequalificationsof theselectedcandidate,departmentalbudgetavailability,internalequity,geographiclocation and external market pay for comparable jobs.
